Zona Cerritos – A small surfing & fishing village

Cerritos is an area of Nuevo Mazatlan where you can find all the amenities and service required to make your holiday fulfilled. Luxurious hotels and resorts, restaurants, markets, car and motorcycle rentals, shopping areas, clinics and hospitals, travel and tour agencies, beauty salons and spas.

There are two beautiful beaches to choose for relaxation. These beaches are not over crowed like you may find in the

‘Golden Zone’ area. The sand is white with gold flicks and you can walk for miles. Both beaches Playa Sabalo and Playa Cerritos are great for swimming, surfing, body boarding and skim boarding.

If you are beached out and looking for some fun but want to keep cool, Mazagua is a great place for anyone who loves water slides to hangout. Great day for the kids and just as much fun for the adults. For only $150MXN you can spend the whole day zipping down slides of all shapes and sizes. There is a large kids park where the water is shallow but lots of slides and water features to keep the little ones busy. For the adults who are adrenaline seekers there are big slides that involve a lot of courage. A great place to spend the day filled with screaming fun and laughter.

The food options are endless with a variety of eateries from Mexican cuisine to International flare as Argentinian, Italian, French, and Oriental. Seafood is a must item to feast upon when you visit Mazatlan as it is fresh and delicious. In the fishing bays of Cerritos you will find the freshest of selections from lobster, prawns, squid, scallops, clams, mussels, and so much more.

If your itching to watch a local sporting game from back home you can always head down to ‘The Last Drop’. These guys cater to the tourists and have numerous televisions displayed with sporting games from all over the world available. The staff are over the top nice and make you feel very welcome.

Huana Coa

Sport Fishing in Mazatlan & Beach Fishing in Cerritos

Mazatlan boasts the largest West Coast Port in Mexico and home to a wide selection of sea-life as it has been known to be the best fishing in the world. Sport Fishing Magazine named Mazatlan one of the top 20 sport fishing destinations. Over 10,000 marlin and sailfish are brought in annually making it an ideal place for a great fishing trip. many deep sea fishing charters are located in the area and all offer a different kind of adventure but all with a common goal to reel in a catch of the day! Other fish known to be caught are, sea bass, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, dorado and grouper. There are fresh water lakes stocked for those looking for an adventure away from the Pacific sea, about an hour North of Mazatlan heading in to the Sierra Madre Mountains.

Spend the day off-shore fishing, steps from the beach gates of El Sol La Vida! Some of the best fishing can be found here. We rent out rods and tackle or buy some lures from us that are handmade here in Mazatlan and are used by many locals. If you catch a fish we would be happy to prepare it for you on our grill for your lunch or dinner. It’s a great way to spend your morning or to end your day casting your line out to the open sea as the sunsets in front of you.


ATV Tours & Dirt Bike Adventures


Take a tour through jungle terrain, washed out creeks, coastal beaches riding over sand dunes. Par-take in a tour or rent by the hour for your ownpleasure. Right outside our Boutique Resort we have some of the best trails that take you out on to the beach where you wont disturb anyone and have as much fun as you can handle.


Water Sport Activities

Parasailing, kayaking, catamaran, jet-ski, boating, snorkeling, scuba diving.

– On the beach Zona Dorada along the ‘Golden Zone’ you can rent jet ski’s, kayaks, a catamaran with a guide on board. Head to the three islands Deer, Bird and Wolf where the sand is sparkling white and the water is crystal clear. These islands are an excellent place to go snorkeling and scuba diving to see a diversity of tropical fish.

– On shore you can take a trip out on the water by Parasail as you soar above the Pacific Ocean enjoying breathtaking views of Mazatlan. You will take in panoramic sights of the beach shore line and city centre. Make sure you have a camera as this would be a great picture perfect opportunity!

– Catamaran’s are fun relaxing ways to travel from the Zona Doarada beach on the ‘Golden Zone’ to the three islands. Sailing smoothly along the sea you stay dry and relaxed.


Mountain Biking

Get your blood pumping, adrenaline rushing as you hit the trails heading for the mountains. Admire nature at its best from within the trails with guided tours where the experts know the best places to go.



Horseback Riding

Experience Mexico’s gold coast with horse back riding. Walk, trot or gallop along the stretches of white sandy beaches of the pacific and play with the horses in the water.  Just down the street from us our amigo can take you out for a stroll along the seashore as you admire the tranquil setting of  the golden sand, lapping waves, and tropical breeze. These horses love attention so don’t forget to show them your appreciation with a good scratch behind the ears and a rub on their sides.

Cerveza Pacífico Clara, is brewed here in Mazatlan better known as Pacifico, it is a smooth refreshing larger that was first brewed by three Germans in 1900. It’s name comes from being brewed near the Pacific Ocean port city of Mazatlan. They offer tours of the brewery but they need to be made in advance as spots on the tour are limited as this has been a tourist sightseeing haven
